Eye surgery

These are flat yellowish deposits of cholesterol on the eyelids. They often indicate metabolism disorders of cholesterol and triglycerides. Removal of xanthelasma is done under local anaesthesia. The xanthelasma is cut out and the wound is stitched. The stitches are removed after the wound is healed.
