Eye surgeryChalazion |
A chalazion is a cyst in the eyelid that is caused by inflammation causing the eyelid to be painful, swollen and red. If conservative treatment is ineffective, the surgery is carried out in which the chalazion is cut open and removed by curettage. Sometimes stitches must be applied on the eyelid skin. The surgery is done under local anaesthesia.
